4 large dessert apples
125 g (4 oz) ready-to-eat dried fruit, such as cranberries, sultanas and apricots
4 teaspoons demerara sugar
Core the apples and score a line around the middle of each and arrange them in an ovenproof dish. Stuff the cored centre of the apples with the dried fruit.
Sprinkle over the sugar and bake in a preheated oven, 200°C (400°F), Gas Mark 6, for 25 minutes or until the apples are tender. Cut in half and serve.
