Strawberries and Cream Tisane

Although not commonly used, strawberry leaf has a long history of medicinal benefits. Strawberry leaf is abundant in vitamins and minerals that are found to be beneficial during pregnancy. It is high in vitamin C, which helps absorb iron. Strawberry leaf is also a natural diuretic, which prevents water retention. It has been shown to aid in the healing of eczema and digestive disorders. In general, strawberry leaf is a mildly fruity herb that makes a delightful herbal infusion.


  • 4 cups boiling water
  • 2–4 tablespoons dried strawberry leaves
  • 1⁄2 cup nut milk of choice (page 83) or coconut milk (page 86)
  • Honey or stevia, to taste
  • Pour boiling water over strawberry leaves. Allow to steep for approximately

    10 minutes. Strain strawberry leaves. Stir in nut milk and add honey.
