Tummy Tamer

Guava is a tropical fruit that is popular in Asian countries. It isn’t easy to find fresh, but if you live in a metropolitan city with a good Asian market, you can find it. Guava is known for being beneficial to all stomach aliments from diarrhea and dysentery to constipation. Guava is also soothing to coughs and colds. If you can’t find guava, pineapple is a great substitute, although its tummy taming properties aren’t as potent. You can use any coconut milk or nut milk, but Brazil nut is our favorite. We added probiotics to ensure good internal flora.

  • 1 large guava, unpeeled and chopped, approximately 2 cups (may substitute pineapple in equal amounts)
  • 1 cup Brazil nut milk (page 83)
  • 2 probiotic capsules
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • Blend all ingredients until smooth.

  • Serves 1-2
