Cleanliness is next to godliness, the saying goes. But clearly there were many children who were not briefed on this fact. Some may hate the feel of the bath. Still others may be reluctant to have water splashed on their face or have their toes scrubbed. And some may just find that bathtime is a good time to test their independence. Whatever the case, a child must be washed on a fairly regular basis, come hell or belly-button-high water.
