Who patented an electric railway trolley?

Inventor E. R. Robinson was the first person to receive a patent for an electric railway trolley on September 19, 1893. To propel the car, he used electricity that flowed from an overhead wire through a pole attached to the roof of the vehicle. It became the forerunner of the electric street railways and buses that continue to operate in some sections of the country.
