Lincoln Theodore Monroe Andrew Perry (1902–1985), better known as Stepin Fetchit, was an actor and comedian billed in early films of the 1920s and 1930s. He took his stage name from a race horse. He was a pioneer black actor who played stereotypical and degrading roles, yet was the first black to receive feature billing in movies and the first black to appear in films with stars like Will Rogers and Shirley Temple.
