Is surgical sterilization reversible?

Sterilization, both male and female, should be considered a permanent, irreversible procedure. Tubal sterilization may be reversible, but it requires microsurgery to reconnect the uterine tubes after they have been blocked. Similarly, the reversal of a vasectomy in males is a lengthy, complicated operation requiring general anesthesia.
