Is there any relationship between dieting and hair loss?

There is some scientific evidence that a successful diet can also trigger hair loss. Weight loss can also cause hair to shed, most likely from a nutritional deficiency. Changes in levels of vitamins A, B, and D, as well as changes in zinc, magnesium, proteins, and fatty acids, can all trigger episodes of hair loss. Hair loss can also be triggered by stress, surgery, pregnancy, and age-related hormonal changes.
