Major Plasma Proteins

There are three major plasma proteins. Plasma proteins are produced by the liver, with the exception of gamma globulins, which are produced by lymphatic tissue or tissues.

Albumin 60 Important in maintaining osmotic pressure
Globulins 36 Alpha, beta—transport proteins; gamma—antibodies released during immune response
Fibrinogen 4 Blood clot formation
