Major Plasma Proteins
There are three major plasma proteins. Plasma proteins are produced by the liver, with the exception of gamma globulins, which are produced by lymphatic tissue or tissues.
|Type||% (by Weight)||Function|
|Albumin||60||Important in maintaining osmotic pressure|
|Globulins||36||Alpha, beta—transport proteins; gamma—antibodies released during immune response|
|Fibrinogen||4||Blood clot formation|
