What are the symptoms of stroke?

The symptoms of stroke appear suddenly and include numbness or weakness, especially on one side of the body; confusion or trouble speaking or understanding speech; trouble seeing in one or both eyes; trouble walking, dizziness, or loss of balance or coordination; or severe headache with no known cause. Often more than one of these symptoms will be present, but they all appear suddenly.
