What condition is caused by the accumulation of fluid in loose connective tissue?

Fibrocartilage is often found where hyaline cartilage meets a ligament or tendon. It is found in the pads of the knees, between the pubic bones of the pelvis, and between the spinal vertebrae. It prevents bone-to-bone contact.

Edema is the accumulation of fluid in loose connective tissue. It is characterized by swelling of the affected area.
