Where is the pacemaker of the heart located?

The pacemaker of the heart is located in the sinoatrial (SA) node in the right atrium. Cells of the sinoatrial node generate an impulse about 75 times per minute. The pacemaker coordinates heart rate through a system of nerve fibers that spread throughout the right and left atria.
