Which diseases are caused by vitamin deficiencies?

Certain diseases are linked to dietary deficiencies of certain vitamins. Insufficient quantities of vitamin C in the diet leads to scurvy. Pellagra results from a lack of niacin (vitamin B3) in the diet. Rickets in children and the related disease of osteomalacia in adults is caused by a lack of vitamin D.
