Which type of tissue accounts for the greatest amount of body weight?

Muscle tissue accounts for approximately 50 percent of body weight and connective tissue accounts for 45 percent of total body weight. The remaining 5 percent is divided between epithelium and glands (3 percent) and neural tissue (2 percent). Tissues combine to form all the organs and systems of the human body.
