Why should you not inhale super-cooled air? |
Inhaled super-cooled air decreases the fluidity of the mucus that lines the respiratory passageways. Super-cooled air can even cause ice crystals to form in the nasal mucosa.

The sinuses are located behind the nose and around the nasal cavity. (From Bickley, L. S., and Szilagyi, F! Bates’ Guide to Physical Examination and History Taking. 8th Ed. Philadelphia: Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins, 2003.)
