What is Neolithic art? |
The Neolithic Period is the “New Stone Age,” which lasted from approximately 6,000 B.C.E. until 2000 B.C.E. Unlike their Paleolithic predecessors, Neolithic people were settled rather than migratory, domesticating plants and animals for the first time. The earliest evidence of Neolithic culture has been found in the Near East, including the modern-day countries of Jordan, Syria, and Turkey. Examples of Neolithic art include clay pottery and monumental stone monuments.
