Paleolithic art can be broken down into two general categories: mobiliary and parietal art. As Paleolithic people were migratory, they needed to carry their belongings with them as they traveled great distances. Mobiliary is a term that describes mobile art, or art that can be carried without too much physical effort. The most common examples include small sculptures.
