Who is Amitabha Buddha?

Amitabha Buddha was a mortal king who reached an enlightened state and became a buddha in the tradition of Pure Land Buddhism, the most popular form of Buddhism in China. Known as the Buddha of Infinite Life and Infinite Light as well as Buddha of the West, Amitabha Buddha promises rebirth in paradise, or Western Pure Land, for those with faith.
