Contemporary Art and Globalization

Who is Gabriel Orozco?

Gabriel Orozco (1962–) is a Mexican artist from Jalapa, Veracruz, whose work, including sculpture, photographs, and installations, often subtly alters found objects and is intellectually complex. For example, in the early 1990s, Orozco chopped up a Citroën DS automobile and reduced its width by two-thirds, making us think differently about commonly perceived objects.
