How was the Deep Impact spacecraft configured?

The Deep Impact spacecraft had two parts: the flyby craft, which is about 10 feet (3 meters) long, 6 feet (1.8 meters) wide, and 8 feet (2.4 meters) high and outfitted with sensitive scientific instruments; and the impactor, which was a 820-pound (370-kilogram), metal (mostly copper) box about the size of a washing machine and outfitted with a camera and a small thruster.
