What happened to the Gemini 8?

In March 1966, after docking with an Agena rocket, the Gemini 8 spacecraft began spinning out of control. Only by turning off the thrusters did astronauts Neil Armstrong (1930–2012) and David Scott (1932–) avert disaster. Gemini 8 then made an emergency landing in the Pacific Ocean. NASA investigators later found that the problem was caused by a thruster that had been stuck in the “open” position.
