What is the Venus Express?

The Venus Express mission is a project designed and operated by the European Space Agency. It was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on November 9, 2005, on a Soyuz-Fregat rocket. It arrived at Venus on April 11, 2006, eventually settling into a twenty-four-hour elliptical, quasi-polar orbit.
