Current observations show that the universe has flat geometry, and that there is a lot of dark energy in the universe. In fact, since Λ = 0.7, that means that 70 percent of the “stuff” in the universe is dark energy, which keeps getting more and more plentiful as the universe continues to expand. So the expansion rate of the universe is increasing, and we live in an accelerating universe.
