When did Cassini launch, and when did it arrive at Saturn? |
Cassini-Huygens was launched on a Titan IVB/Centaur rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida, on October 15, 1997. Its flight path included two flybys of Venus, one flyby of Earth on August 18, 1999, and one flyby of Jupiter on December 30, 2000. All four flybys were used as gravitational slingshots to get Cassini-Huygens to Saturn. After nearly seven years in flight, the spacecraft finally arrived at its orbit around Saturn on July 1, 2004.
