Paul wrote there are many kinds of gifts, but all of them come from God. Some of the gifts about which Paul wrote were leadership, teaching, assisting, and healing. To give the Corinthian believers a visual image of what he meant, Paul likened the church to the human body. The human body has many parts, but all of them work together for the benefit of the body. Likewise, Paul believed that each person in the church should use his or her skills in conjunction with the skills of other believers to benefit the entire church.
