New Testament

Gospels and Acts of the Apostles

Are there discrepancies between the Gospels?

Yes. The accounts differ in some ways. While critics point to the differences as proof that the writers of the books made up some of the stories and details, adherents say that the differences are proof that the writers were human. The situation can be likened to that of three people witnessing a car wreck. Three people see the same car wreck. Different details stand out to different witnesses. The witnesses even disagree on some points. So it is with the events described in the Gospels. Some scholars think the Gospels derived from the Q document.
