The Pentateuch

God wanted a relationship with the Israelites. As a way of building and maintaining that relationship, God told Aaron to teach the Israelites the difference between clean and unclean, holy and common. These regulations had to do with acceptable and unacceptable foods, protocol for circumcisions, how to diagnose and treat skin diseases, and how to treat household mold. Other regulations had to do with regular and irregular discharges from both men and women. In all cases, the perimeters for uncleanness were defined clearly, as were the procedures for making the person or thing clean.
