Did Daniel serve Darius as he had Nebuchadnezzar and Belshazzar?

At first, yes. However, some of Darius’ officials grew jealous of Daniel, and conspired against him. At his officials’ suggestion, King Darius established an edict whereby anyone who prayed to anyone or anything except for the king during the next thirty days would be thrown into the lions’ den. This became an irrevocable law.
