The Pentateuch

Did God give the Israelites any other laws?

Yes, many! After God gave the Israelites the Ten Commandments, he gave Moses more laws to give to them. Chapters 21–23 of Exodus details God’s laws for the Israelites regarding the rights of slaves, laws regarding accidental and intentional killing, laws regarding harming a pregnant woman, and laws regarding personal property and negligence. Moses told the people the laws (Exodus 24:3), and they agreed to follow the laws. Then Moses wrote the laws down in “the book of the covenant.” (Exodus 24:4) At this point, Moses read the laws to the Israelites (Exodus 24:7), and again, they agreed to follow the laws.
