Apocrypha

Did Holofernes attack the people of Judah?

He began with a siege. He surrounded Jerusalem with his troops. The people of Judah ran out of water, and became discouraged. They wanted to surrender. Uzziah, one of the city leaders, encouraged the people to hold out for five more days, at which time, he assured them, God would rescue them. If God did not, Uzziah said he would agree to the surrender.
