Did Pharaoh reward Joseph for interpreting the dreams, or punish him for giving a grim prediction?

Joseph, in a bit of chancy self-promotion, advised Pharaoh “to select a man who is discerning and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.” (NRSV, Genesis 41:33) Surprise! Pharaoh selected Joseph. Pharaoh changed Joseph’s name to Zaphenath-paneah. Also, Pharaoh gave Joseph Asenath, daughter of Potiphera, priest of On, as his wife. In this way, Joseph became the most influential, powerful man in Egypt, next to Pharaoh. Joseph was thirty years old.
