Did the Benjaminite tribe die out then?

No. In a tragic move of irony, the elders of the tribes gave the remaining Benjaminites the authorization to kidnap virgins from Shiloh and take them as wives. The practice of rape continued. Thus, the book of Judges ends with tribes acting without consulting God, and in direct defiance of his laws.
