Do Paul’s views represent the views of the church to the present day?

Scholars continue to debate this. Some say that Paul’s views apply to all times and all situations. Others say that Paul’s views should be viewed in the context of society in first-century Rome. In that case, Paul might have been trying to change attitudes first. Then when slaveholders and tyrannical husbands received the Holy Spirit, changed behavior would be the natural outpouring of that blessing. Paul’s views on women and slaves appear in several of his letters.
