Filled with awe and joy, they ran to tell the disciples what the angel said. Suddenly, Jesus appeared to them, and they worshiped him. When the chief priests heard that Jesus arose from the dead, they circulated a rumor that Jesus’ disciples simply stole his body during the night while the guards were asleep.
