Not even a day. Originally, the plan was for him to be brought before the Roman authorities the next day. However, that night Paul’s nephew overheard the rabble-rousers from earlier in the day plot to ambush Paul while he was on his way from prison to his appearance before the Roman authorities. The nephew told the Roman officials of the plot. So the head Roman official came up with another plan.
