Is Jesus mentioned in Genesis? |
Maybe. When God contemplated making humans, God said, “Let us make humankind in our image, according to our likeness … ” (NRSV, Genesis 1:26). Why does God use the plural first person? The Bible does not address this directly. One possibility is that God was addressing God’s heavenly court. Another possibility is that God was referring to the Holy Trinity of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit—in which case, yes, Jesus is mentioned in Genesis.
