Is the same bible used for every inauguration?

No. Some presidents have used family bibles or bibles given to them as gifts. For both of his inaugurations, Bill Clinton used a bible given to him by his grandmother. Sometimes the Bible has been opened to a certain verse or passage. When Gerald Ford was sworn in, his Bible was open to Proverbs 3:5–6—“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” Wishing to emphasize the separation of church and state, John Quincy Adams did not swear on a bible, but a book of law. Theodore Roosevelt did not swear on any book at all.
