No. Haggai asked the people, “Who is left among you that saw this house in its former glory? How does it look to you now? Is it not in your sight as nothing?” (NRSV, Haggai 2:3) However, Haggai assured the people that God would bless the temple. God told Haggai to tell the people: “My spirit abides among you; do no fear.
