What are some of the most notable Bible translations through the ages?

Some translations are notable because they are the first of their kind. John Wycliffe’s translation, the Wycliffe Bible (1384 C.E.), is credited with being the first complete Bible in the English language. Because it was written in English, more people could read it for themselves and not rely on church officials.
