What did Abimelech do

Abimelech was the only self-appointed judge. He was one of Gideon’s more than seventy sons. He seized leadership over the Israelites by killing all of his brothers except for Jotham, who hid from Abimelech and his murderous cronies. Abimelech made himself king. He ruled Israel for three years.
