What did Ezra do when he heard this? |
Ezra wrote, “And when I heard this thing, I rent my garment and my mantle, and plucked off the hair of my head and of my beard and sat down astonished.” (KJV, Ezra 9:3) These actions were indications of deep grieving. Then Ezra prayed to God, and confessed the collective sin of the people.
