What did Moses do then?

The next day, he saw two Israelites fighting. He broke up the fight, and said to the one who was wrong, “Why do you strike your fellow Hebrew?” The man answered, “Who made you a ruler and judge over us? Do you mean to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” (NRSV, Exodus 2:13–14) With this, Moses knew his crime was known. Certainly Pharaoh knew, and because of it, he sought to kill Moses. So Moses ran away to the land of Midian. In Midian, Moses became a shepherd, got married, and had a son.
