The Constitution does not say anything about the Bible specifically, but it does have something to say about religion. After the designing dads penned the Constitution in 1787, they added some amendments, the first of which reads, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” Exactly what that means has been argued ever since.
