New Testament

What happened between the woman and the dragon?

The dragon stood before the woman, ready to devour her baby the minute it was born. The Bible reads, “And [the woman] gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron.” (NRSV, Revelation 12:5) Most scholars say that the baby represents Jesus, who was born out of Israel and came to rule the world. The baby was snatched from her and taken to God and his throne. The woman fled to the wilderness, to a place prepared by God.
