The Ishmaelites sold Joseph to Potiphar, an officer of the Pharaoh. The LORD blessed everything that Joseph did and gave him success. Potiphar saw that the LORD was with Joseph and put him in charge of his household. As a result, “The LORD blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake.” (NIV, Genesis 39:5)
