What happened to Saul once he reached Damascus?

A follower of Jesus, Ananias (not Sapphira’s husband), went to Saul. At God’s command, Ananias laid his hands on Saul and “immediately something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes and he could see again.” (NIV, Acts 9:18) Right away, Saul arose and was baptized.
