What happened when the Israelites took all the land?

They divided it into tribal allotments. The tribes of Gad and Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh, kept their end of the deal they made with Moses. Even though these two-and-a-half tribes found land they wanted before crossing the Jordan, they promised Moses they would go on ahead with the rest of the tribes and help them fight. Now that much of the fighting was done, the two-and-a-half tribes crossed back over the Jordan to begin their settlements there.
