What is the book of Ezra about?

In the Hebrew Bible, Ezra and Nehemiah are one book. In the Protestant Bible, Ezra and Nehemiah are separate books. The book of Ezra, composed around 400 B.C.E., deals with the exiles’ return from Babylon, and the completion and the dedication of the new temple.
