What is the book of Numbers about? |
It concerns the Israelites’ travels in the wilderness. During this time, God gave the Israelites instructions for camp arrangement, conducting a census, and the arrangement of the group while traveling. Traditionally, Moses is considered to the author of Numbers. The English name of the book, Numbers, refers to all of the numbers taken during the census. The Hebrew title for the book, Ba-Mid-bar, means “in the wilderness.”
