What major event happened shortly after Elisha’s death?

During King Hezekiah’s reign, the Israelites feared the imminent threat of the Assyrians. Hezekiah prayed to God, and God promised that the Assyrians would not enter their gates. The Assyrians camped outside of the city gates fully prepared to conquer Jerusalem the next day. That night, however, God struck the Assyrian camp. When dawn came, 185,000 Assyrians were dead.
